Passionate Creative

Joshua Hockema’s love for film started at a young age and only grew over time. Growing up acting in theatre, Josh knew he wanted to work with actors. He loves to shape and design storytelling uniquely and fascinatingly. At 11 years old, he began directing and shooting short films. From ages 15-17, he was seasonally hired to be the Media Director for a Christian camp in Virginia. During college, Josh was a Team Lead on the university’s media team, specializing in film. Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2022, he had produced and directed multiple short films and had already worked on 5 feature films on the camera team. Living in Atlanta, Josh continued working on union films but was slowed down during the Actors and Writers strikes of 2023-2024.

He began producing and shooting commercials and promotional material for his church and companies in Atlanta. Josh is now trying to transition out of the film industry and into more full-time salaried work as a creative, seeking to grow and enhance a company’s productions. He loves culturing relationships and telling stories that can impact the world. Impacting people one day at a time.

Josh is passionate about story, visual interest, leadership, motivation through story, and creative design. All things have a story and he’s a creative who loves to tell it.
